I Come From A Land Down Under

Picture has nothing to do with the post. It's just awesome.

Anyway, here's an attempt to get back in the blog game after one failed return already. Let's do this quick hits style, saving the justification for why this thing died twice on me.

1. Everywhere I go in Sydney, I can't escape this club mix of Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody." I don't even really like the original, but the remix is some hypnotic club shit, and I hate to admit that I really dig it. If anyone somehow has this song and wants to let me "borrow" an MP3 of it, I'll give you a firm handshake and my eternal gratitude. Here's a taste.

2. If you care about hip-hop, DL the mixtape that comes after the jump. The dude's name is Grip Grand, he's from the Bay Area, and he needs major label press. If I go on about him, you'll just think I'm jocking him for no reason. But I'm a full-on stan. And I'm right. Listen to his Chart Toppers Vol. 1 mixtape and tell me it's not absolute lyrical destruction of some of the biggest hits of the last year. That's a double dog dare.

3. Let me try to rundown what's hot at the moment:

Best Co-Ed Jam: Keri Hilson-Knock You Down (feat. Ne-Yo & Kanye West)
Most Surprisingly Out-of-Character But Awesome Jam: Meth & Red-City Lights (feat. UGK)
Best "Who Killed It Hardest" Jam: Tech N9ne-Sickology 101 (feat. Crooked I & Chino XL)
Best Song I'm Embarassed To Like: Ace Hood-Overtime (feat. Akon & T-Pain)
Jadakiss Feature That Makes Me Irritated "The Last Kiss" Isn't Better: French Montana-New York Minute (feat. J To The Mwah)
Best "Get My Grown Man On" Smooth Track: The Foreign Exchange-Take Off The Blues (feat. Darien Brockington)
Best Song That's Worth Having Because Of One Line (and the Cool & Dre production): Wale-Chillin' (feat. Lady Gaga) [I won't spoil the line, but it's a fucking hysterical Superbad reference]
Jim Jonsin Production That Will Probably Run The Summer Like "Whatever You Like" Ran Last Fall: Slim Thug-I Run

Sorry it's all YouTubes. I like to hook it up with links, but it didn't come together this time. Still, that's a funkload of tunes. And Unsavory Comments is back...for now. That's cause for some rejoicing somewhere, right?
